St. Patrick drove all the snakes out of Ireland (or something like that). How do you think he managed that? Must’ve had some help of the canine variety, we’re thinkin’!

Quincy aka “The Q Man” agrees. Here he is celebrating “St. Patty’s Dog” last weekend.

The Akita And The Firetruck

Bella the Akita loves firemen! (Photo by Greg Valentine/Sniff Seattle)

I snapped this pic recently during one of my daily walks with two gorgeous Akitas, Bella (pictured) and Niko (not).

We were strolling through Seattle Center and we came across this firetruck from Belltown’s Ladder Company 4. It looked like they were stretching out their ladder — maybe even working on it.

Seeing that these ladders stretch pretty far, my theory is that you need to go somewhere with a whole bunch of wide open space like Seattle Center to work on them.

Well … unless anyone can offer an alternate theory, that’s what I’m going with.

A New Dog Never Replaces An Old Dog…

16 Mar
Dog Quotes, Erica Jong, Seattle Dog Walkers

“A new dog never replaces an old dog, it merely expands the heart.” ~ Erica Jong

That’s a wonderful quote. So what do you think? Maybe it’s time to check out some of your local animal shelters and rescues.

It can be pretty easy. Many shelters and rescues post photos online. So, you’ll be able to see the loving companions they have.

If you’re like me, you won’t be able to make your decision until you head down there in person. It’s like in Harry Potter when they say: “The wand chooses the wizard.” Many times, the dog chooses us!

We're thankful Kahlo got a second chance (Photo by Greg Valentine/Sniff Seattle)

Kahlo is a Pit Bull who was rescued from Miami (where the breed is against the law). Now, she lives happily in the Capitol Hill area in Seattle.

And we LOVE walking this sweetie! Sniff Seattle doesn’t breed discriminate.

It often happens that a man is more humanely related to a cat or dog than to any human being. ~ Henry David Thoreau

Let’s not forget to be humane to the other humans, too 🙂
