A cute photo of your pup or kitty with Santa Claus. What pet lover wouldn’t want one of those?

Our friends from People United for Pets (PUP) are having a Santa Photo and Adoption Event this Saturday (12/1) from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Petco in Kirkland at 12040 NE 85th Street.

That’s right. Meet the Claus and help the cause! 🙂

Here’s more information about PUP and their mission. They’re a great 501(c)(3) non-profit organization who specialize in rehoming small and toy breed dogs.

We met Jasper at the recent Bark at Marymoor Park. Another Greyhound looking for a forever home.

We’re excited to say Jasper has since been adopted. If you’ve ever thought about adopting a Greyhound, check out Jeanna’s post about Movie, the Greyhound we adopted. We know a great rescue we can recommend for our friends in the Seattle-area.

Meet Movie, Our New Greyhound!

27 Jul

Introducing our new Greyhound, “Movie!” We just adopted him last week, and I want to let you know about the great organization that brought us together.

They’re Royal Hounds Greyhound Adoption. I wrote about RHGA in April, explaining their mission. Now that I’ve personally gone through the adoption process with them, I can say without a doubt that Royal Hounds is the best rescue group I’ve come into contact with. The best.

And I don’t mean that to take away from anyone else. If you read our blog, you know how much I love dogs. I appreciate the tireless work and bottomless love found at all rescues. But, sometimes you just have give someone five gold stars for their efforts when you’ve personally experienced it.

I’m impressed by how thorough they are. RHGA really puts a lot of thought into matching you with your hound. They do extensive interviews and spend a lot of time educating and prepping people so they’re ready to give their dog the best care right from that first day.

If you wanna bring a Greyhound into your life, look up Royal Hounds!

So, that makes one more at our house. Movie joins Stewie, our first Pug and Parfait, another Pug who we fell in love with while fostering. We’ll keep sharing their stories here, along with the many dogs we at Sniff Seattle Dog Walkers have the privilege of walking.

We’re Spending The Day With Fellow Pug Lovers At Seattle Pug Rescue’s Pug Gala!

Feel the Pug love! (Photo by Greg Valentine/Sniff Seattle)

If you’re a Pug lover like I am then you’ll wanna pug-a-lug-lug out to Monroe tomorrow for the 17th Annual Pug Gala!

It’s the most important fundraiser of the year for our friends at Seattle Pug Rescue. It’s happening at Evergreen State Fairgrounds from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Our Parfait (third from the left in the photo above) was a rescue from SPR. And we’re excited to be involved with the Pug Gala this year — and helping to raise some money!

If you were at the recent Furry 5K, we’ll be having the same sorta fun. Lots of prizes, such as our Sniff Seattle Pup Packs. Free balloons. Treat bags for all the Pugs! And, a chance to win a pretty, pink iPod Nano! So, if you’re attending, come see us at the Sniff Seattle tent.

We’ll see you tomorrow (6/16) at the Pug Gala!

‘Furry 5K’ Helps Seattle Animal Shelter Help The Animals

30 May
Dog 5K Race, Sniff Seattle, Animal Shelter Benefit

The Furry 5K is June 10 at Seattle’s Seward Park (Photo by RCannon100/Flickr)

Dogs and people running together, helping a great cause. That’s what the Furry 5K on Sunday, June 10 at 10:00 am at Seward Park is all about.

Every year in Seattle, thousands of pet lovers gather for this wonderful event. And many of those people participate in the 5K race, running or walking with their dog and raising money for the Seattle Animal Shelter’s Help the Animals Fund.

Try and imagine the vet bill for 7,000 strays and you’ll understand right away why the Seattle Animal Shelter holds this race. Seven thousand strays every year, many who arrive at the shelter sick, injured or abused.

So, raising the money is crucial. And anyone reading this can help. You can donate HERE!

If you want to run or walk in the race, pre-registration is $20 without the tee shirt and $25 with the tee shirt. To register on the day of the race, it’s $30.

We’ll be at the event ourselves. We hope you’ll stop by the Sniff Seattle tent and help us raise money for the Help the Animals Fund.

See ya there!

PUP Dog Rescue Has Adoption Events Today And Next Saturday

19 May

Find a dog that will steal your heart (Photo by Mark Hillary/Flickr)

Check out PUP Dog Rescue‘s adoption event today in Kirkland from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at Dooley’s, 1421 Market Street. Your new dog could be there — waiting to pick you!

Yes, I said that the way I wanted. Finding a dog can be a little like finding a wand in the world of Harry Potter. “The wand chooses the wizard, Mr. Potter.”

If you can’t make it today, PUP is holding another event next Saturday at Redmond Market from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.

See more about the PUP (People United for Pets) adoption events HERE!
