Seattle Pug Rescue: “We’ve Got Pugs Coming Out Of Our Ears!” That was the headline of one of our recent blogs. It got a lot of hits — to date, the most of any we’ve published on WordPress.

It’s been interesting seeing some of the feedback that story generated with people on Reddit, the social news sharing site. Our blog, if you missed it (link above), talked about the number of pugs Seattle Pug Rescue was trying to place in forever homes.

Redditers were definitely sympathetic. “Aw…my heart is both melting and breaking,” said ShinyBlackNose.

Naturally, many people are simply not in a position to adopt a dog at the drop of hat. But that doesn’t mean they don’t want to!

“Oh god, why did I click on that link? If my boyfriend hadn’t made me promise I wouldn’t adopt any additional dogs, I’d be emailing the rescue right this second,” chimed in VividLotus. “Pugs are amazing pets, and Seattle Pug Rescue is a great place from which to adopt.”

Our blog was welcome news to Saveyoself, who said: “Great! Wife and I were just talking about getting a dog, she wants a pug.”

And, 553m3k1m offered this theory as to why SPR has so many pugs.

“Remember a few years ago when you couldn’t go anywhere in Seattle without seeing a young affluent couple walking their pug? Well, they aren’t the hip dog now and looks like they are going to way of the Dalmatian. The hip dog is now the Corgi. Am I right? Sad really that people can just discard their dogs like an unfashionable purse or pair of shoes.”

Whether you agree with that statement 100 percent, I know most of us would agree it’s heartbreaking any dog could be discarded “like an unfashionable pair of shoes.” It undoubtedly happens some of the time.

We found Parfait (pictured above) after fostering her through Seattle Pug Rescue. So one of SPR’s recent tweets caught my eye:

We’ve got pugs coming out of our ears! There are nearly 40 on our web page of available pugs. Check ’em out!

Forty is a lot of pugs looking for new homes. It’s also a bunch to choose from. Take a look at Seattle Pug Rescue’s page of available pugs. Pics, stats, and each pug’s “backstory.”

Parfait, Anyone?

Oh, not this Parfait.  I’m talking about the adorable cutie in the pic above. Parfait the Pug!

Parfait has stolen our hearts!  She’s our foster pug from Seattle Pug Rescue, where we’re volunteers.  It’s such a privilege having these lovable pugs in our lives while SPR finds them a forever home.

Parfait is a little Diva, and she fits in so great here.  She loves to lounge around and sleep a lot; but gets super excited for her walks.  She is truly one of the sweetest-natured dogs I’ve ever met.

The most unique thing about Parfait is she actually smiles when she’s happy.  Not just a little grin, but a full fledged smile!  The cutest thing I’ve ever seen.  She is going to make someone very happy and fulfilled.

If you’re interested in giving a pug like Parfait a forever home, give Seattle Pug Rescue a call! And they’re always looking for foster families. Here’s how you get in touch with them:
