Cute Bunnies Bought For Kids Too Often Get Abandoned

Pet-store bunnies have a hard time surviving in the wild (Photo by wwarby/Flickr)

Have you ever seen a bunny running wild at the park? Like at Green Lake or Woodland Park in Seattle? It’s always cute to see one, yes?

Unfortunately, many times they’re pet-store bunnies who can’t survive in the wild.

Last week, a group in Sequim called Precious Life Animal Sanctuary picked up 51 bunnies at Green lake and Woodland Park. PLAS makes a point at Easter to spread the message that parents should really think it through before buying their kids a rabbit.

PLAS says too often those bunnies bought at Easter get abandoned after kids lose interest. Here’s more about it from the Seattle Times.
