Jeanna & Greg @ The Memphis Zoo

“Let’s go to the zoo.” Two thousand nine hundred five miles later, we were taking these photos!

Okay, so that’s not exactly how it happened. Makes for a juicier lead sentence, though.

First of all, the distance between Seattle and Memphis is less than 2,905 miles. But, there’s no direct flight. So, those were our actual air miles last weekend when we did a quick trip to Memphis and swung by the Memphis Zoo.

Second, nobody would actually get on a plane and fly across the country just to go to a zoo, right? (Okay, that’s something we might do.)

Check out some our zoo snaps below. And see the rest HERE!

Learning From A Dog — Even A ‘Loopy’ One

Not Marley (Photo by Greg Valentine/Sniff Seattle)

“A person can learn a lot from a dog, even a loopy one like ours. Marley taught me about living each day with unbridled exuberance and joy, about seizing the moment and following your heart. He taught me to appreciate the simple things-a walk in the woods, a fresh snowfall, a nap in a shaft of winter sunlight. And as he grew old and achy, he taught me about optimism in the face of adversity. Mostly, he taught me about friendship and selflessness and, above all else, unwavering loyalty.” ~ John Grogan
